A Nightmare Journey

Wow – what an horrific journey! It is only now I can bring myself to tell you about it! Ha, that’s not true. We have just been really caught up with Washington DC meetings I have not had the chance to sit and write a blog in a day or so.

We decided to take a train down to Washington DC from New York, thinking it would be more ‘sedate’ option. Leaving at 9:30am all was going well until David got really sick for no reason and all we wanted to do was get to the new apartment in DC and for him to crawl into bed.

Then, suddenly, there is an announcement over the speaker-system and watching David’s pained face was priceless. There had been some sort of accident and ‘the train in front has taken out all the electricity poles on a section of track near Philadelphia. We do not know when we will be moving again!’

Long Story short, it took ten hours door to door, rather than the three is was supposed to be! Awful. We were thankful, however, that the checkin at the new place was seamless and the place is lovely – a real haven from the wind.

So… stay tuned for more posts from our meetings.

Til then

Abdi and David 🙂
